EASTER EGG HUNT IN MEMORY OF ADMIRER

Hello Lovely Blippers

When we overheard a conversation between Mr. and Mrs. HCB about what she might do for a Blip today, he suggested an Easter Egg Hunt, which we thought was a great idea because we all love chocolate and especially Easter eggs and what better day to do it?  It was quite cold and dull, but we made sure we were well kitted out and we all wore our hats and scarves, except Hoggy, who has his prickles to keep him warm.

Mrs. HCB went out into the garden to hide all the Easter eggs and then we ran out to try and find them, following the clues.  I think it’s probably easier for Hoggy on days like today because he can get closer to the ground and sniff them out and you can see that he managed to sniff out 3 Creme eggs in amongst the polyanthus flowers.

We had a great time as Mr. and Mrs. HCB’s garden has lots of nooks and crannies - so you an imagine what fun we had together.  Of course, we were all watching out for each other very carefully, making sure that the little ones found some Easter eggs.

We think that’s what life is all about, helping one another.  Often we can get very selfish and just look out for ourselves, but having listened to Mr. and Mrs. HCB chatting, we know that it’s much better for us to be kind and helpful to others, especially those who find life difficult sometimes, so even if it means we don’t get as much chocolate as we would like, it’s good to know we have helped someone else and made them happy.

Snowy needed some help to climb up into the honeysuckle bush, because there was a Creme egg nearby, so as I had found the golden Easter Bunny, I went and helped her.  The thing about being kind and doing good things for people is that not only are they happy, but it gives you a warm, fuzzy feeling too.

For instance, Penny Penguin tripped over some stones near the pond and was face down on the gravel so instead of just running past her, Snowy stopped, helped her get up, brushed her down and then they carried on around the garden together, which was much better than wandering around on their own.

Of course, because he is so small, Tiny found it extra hard jumping up into pots when he spotted a KitKat Easter Bunny, but as I am the biggest, I helped to lift him up and he was delighted to find not only a bunny but also a large Cadbury’s Creme egg - you might not think they are that large, but when you are tiny, anything bigger than you is huge!

Mrs. HCB had made a big notice to let everyone know about the Easter Egg Hunt, but as it was quite windy, it kept blowing over, so she asked Mr. HCB if he would mind holding it up.  He was in the middle of digging up some leeks for tomorrow’s dinner, but although he “chuntered on” a bit, I think he quite liked doing a job, especially as today it is in special memory of Admirer.  However, he wasn’t quite so keen on being in the collage, but Mrs. HCB insisted, so that was that!

After a lovely time together in the garden, we all came indoors to find that Mrs. HCB made hot chocolate with marshmallows on the top as a special treat for us and of course, some of the Easter eggs - well you can hardly have an Easter Egg Hunt and not eat any Easter eggs, can you?  Mind you, we will have to watch Mrs. HCB because you probably all know by now that she is a Chocoholic but she always says that chocolate makes everything bearable!  When we were all running around in the garden, we were thinking of our dear friend, Admirer, and know she would have enjoyed seeing us all helping one another.

Wishing you Happy Easter and sending love to you all,

JH Ted and friends xx

P.S.  The KitKat Easter Bunnies were delicious, so Mrs. HCB said!
