Opera in the park

It's so nice to see people out and about enjoying the green spaces, the spring sun, and being sensible. This scene is in Brockwell Park. The lady with the yellow hat in the thumbnail (over to the centre right in the zoomed-out view) was singing opera at the top of her voice. She was amazing! Even when we were on the other side of the park, we could hear her hitting those high notes.

At about that time, my phone binged with a message from a friend who suggested an afternoon cuppa at his. As we were about to pass his home, this was a timely text. There was no time for social anxiety to kick in (we're very rusty in conversing with others) and were soon in his back garden meeting his new kitten (who was too scared to talk to us but we'll be round more so we'll build a friendship). With our big hair and talking-about-everything-at-once conversation, we happily and shiveringly passed two-and-a-half hours in each other's company. We there were no more blankets we could wear and our bladders could take no more tea, we called it a day and felt cheered. How wonderful to meet friends and talk about nothing much while snacking and drinking tea.
