Sally Mair - Loving life

By Sallymair

Ready to go

There's so much life in the garden just now, and for the second year running at this stage I feel happy that all is ready. The ground is dug and prepared and weeded, the first of my sweet pea seeds has broken through in the pots on my window ledge and I feel good to go.
This little primula has survived the Winter well and is full of expection, ready to spring into full glory in the next few days. It's rather lovely just now though, it's full of buds! The garden wild life is more evident too, the fish have survived the winter, I saw a couple of Tortoiseshell butterflies, three ladybirds, lots of different bees and a selection of flies. It was lovely listening to the birds in the bushes too.
It was a glorious day today, we sat out most of it and the thermometer was above 17° even out of the sun.
A popped over to bring their washing and talk weddings, this time next week it will be done and they will at last be Mr and Mrs. Such a shame it wasn't today in this glorious weather, the forecast next week is much less pleasant! They've been together since 2012, so have waited a long time for their day, we never imagined it would be like this though. Still something to tell their children!

We finished watching the first series of Line of Duty tonight, looking forward to series 2. Just watching the Runrig farewell concert on BBC Alba from 2018, doesn't seem as long ago as that. Pickle enjoyed it too, see extra.

Easter Sunday tomorrow and I'm looking forward to being in church, I've not been there since Advent. The girls will be here in the afternoon for an Easter egg hunt, hopefully it won't be raining.

Thank you for the kind words and comments on my bloomers yesterday - I thought they might raise a smile. A says she won't be borrowing them next weekend though as they won't fit under her dress - shame!

Keep safe everybody, Easter 's message is all about hope and looking forward, we all need that just now!
