Marbling

Dull and grey, a softness but the tide was coming in, up the Ahagavanagh river causing strange ripples, swells and pillowings. Like marbled inks.

Last night's arthouse film - Amour - powerful, harrowing, human, realistic, tender, desperate. A subject we shall all probably have to deal with in one way or another during our lives - an elderly, devoted, and accomplished couple are literally torn asunder as the woman suffers a series of strokes. The acting is of the highest calibre, as is the film-making - as Himself said, some of the scenes are masterful, breath-taking in their intricacy and beauty. See it if you can, not comfortable watching but beautifully and sympathetically made.

On a lighter note, it's World book Day tomorrow and we have to dress up - I have a pair of wings and a rather outrageous tutu. Suggestions welcomed.
