Welsh Grand Dame

It's now close to a year since Welsh Section C Pony "Menai Lady Charmain" born 1996 at Menai Stud, Llandysul, Dyfed, Wales & brought to Germany the same year, came to us. She had finished her useful life for the breeders as a foal factory and therefore cost next to nothing. We needed a pal for Sultan as his mare Rosie had just died. She still is totally apathetic to life, simply wanting to eat. She doesn't do anything wrong or bad, but she doesn't seek any relationship with us humans or even with Sultan.

However, today was a test. She had hurt one of her back legs which was swollen - possibly when Angie fell off Sultan two days ago & the two horses joined together bolted. Today Angie decided she wanted to ride Sultan but not take Charlie (my name for her). No sooner was Angie underway than Charlie realised she was being left alone, the first time in a year! She started blaring out at the top of her voice!. So perhaps she does like having Sultan about!

Here my Blip from a year ago wondering what she would look like in a year. I think she looks a lot better especially her coat.

Got the extra photo in from Granddaughter Charlotte in Ireland of her Easter cupcakes. I don't think I need to expand on my thoughts on such days. I think sadly weather wise Easter not the greatest made worse by the lovely weather a few days ago. Here in mother's own words, their day
"....total non-event here. Freezing cold, windy but sunny. Quick Egg hunt, cooked a roast chicken, cleaned out the Guinea pigs, watched Black Panther film. Easter done! Xx"
