Take off

It was a bitterly cold day today with a snow flurry or two and I was resigned to having an indoor day, however, late afternoon it turned out nice, as they say, so we headed off on a walk to Woolbeding bridge and back. The was plenty of action along the way, including this swan that was gliding along serenely and then took us by surprise by suddenly taking off and flying a few metres before landing and then going back to gliding serenely again. I also saw a kingfisher twice, but it was far too fast to get a picture (both times).
