Ranunculus

A favourite flower of my lovely friend E, this is for her.

My heart isn't in it today really. Ma had a fall at the home the other day and it now seems that she is reluctant to weight bear on her left leg. Due to insurance limitations the home will not send a member of staff to accompany her to hospital for an x-ray so I am waiting to hear when and where she will be going - initially it was going to be alone in an ambulance but now hopefully with me alongside. That anyone would indeed send an 82 year old dementia patient off on a 20 mile journey to hospital without an escort leaves me speechless.

I went up to see her earlier and she is very sleepy. That she doesn't appear to be in pain is not a true indication unfortunately. Like many dementia patients she isn't able to say how she feels but will not walk on her left leg. My greatest dread is that she will be admitted to hospital because she always deteriorates massively when she is.

On the bright side however, she isn't remotely distressed and although needing to be fed she has eaten well enough today.

And I've seen a lovely woodburning stove to put in my new house, so not all bad :)
