What's He Doing?

He's making a right mess!

This looks awful, doesn't it? It's what used to be part of the lawn at the lodge. That Man, there, killed all the grass green plants and is now having to rake off all the dead stuff before visitors arrive on Monday.

Why would he do that? Well, he hasn't gone completely mad. You can tell that the garden is quite steep, even worse round the corner and you can probably imagine how difficult it is to mow, especially if slightly damp.

After 16 years of trying to cope with this situation we are creating a wildflower meadow. No, not just for me to have something other than moss and clover to blip. Something that will make life easier as we get older as well as helping the environment.

The selection we bought, with young visitors in mind, was the butterfly collection. I expect this will take a while to work on and mature but we will see how things go.

What did I do to help? I stayed in the lodge where it was dry and polished the woodwork!
