Spring Squall

The willow tree is first to show spring green and strikes a valiant pose against the oncoming rain clouds. I love the feeling of wind building in strength as storms approach and those first drops of rain. Wondering whether it will drench or fizzle out and pass by.

It was quite strange light, being both dark and light at the same moment.

I merged two exposures to cope with the bright sky. I left plenty of space above the tree to show that even though massive and imposing, it's tiny compared to the forces of nature. Cropping to 4x5 seemed to help emphasize the sky.

I think it looks better on black.
