Windmill 'Ons Genoegen', Middelburg

'Ons Genoegen' = 'Our Pleasure'... wonderful name!
'Genoegen' sounds like 'ghu (soft 'g')-NOO-ghun (another soft 'g').
'Genoeg' means 'enough'... and, yes, there is a 'gh' at the end of 'enough' and we might guess now where that came from, except that in English it has taken on the sound of an 'f'.  Some grammar guys 300 years or so ago decided that the spellings didn't have to change, only the sounds.  Yup, without consulting anyone.  But we're used to that, hm?  Haha!

According to the satellite images, Zeeland ('ZAYland') was supposed to be the only province without a cloud in the sky, except for some wispy bits, and of course forecasts aren't always reliable but I thought it would be more than worth the risk.  Middelburg has not one but FOUR windmills, so best to start on it.  On the way there and back, I saw several more, visible on the A58, and each one will have its photoshoot moment at some point.  Some of you might wonder why I don't just do an entire area in one go.  What?  And have to change the date every time and miss the drive?  More than that, though, I like to give myself a surprise and a treat.

Housework the rest of the time, some research and formatting in the evening.  AW did some work in the garden (emphasis on 'some') and had his Thursday evening bridge online with Hennen.  Not a word about last week, but I have a feeling Sweed and Benna have decided that it's time for a change.  By the way, for dinner we had some traditional raw herring, two herring each, eaten with potatoes for AW and rice for me, and loads of onion served with onion leaves and lemon, plus a salad -- absolute heaven!  Will see if we can have a repeat next week.
