Hiding in the grass

We were a bit more adventurous today and headed towards Alban Park, which we haven't visited since before the latest lockdown.  When we got there, however, the car park was full (we were forgetting it was still school holidays, and the sun had encouraged people out).  Instead we parked in one of the shopping car parks and walked initially round the town.

It was great to see so much activity in the shops as they prepare to open again from Monday.  They were cleaning, tidying, laying out stock and generally getting ready to welcome shoppers back into the stores.  There were a lot of people around and a lot of street food stalls which were busy. It felt a lot more normal. I just hope that this next phase of moving out of lockdown is permanent.

We did go on into the park where a lot of people were walking or sitting (some enjoying picnics);  the sun was very pleasant and it wasn't too cold.  I spotted this heron in the reeds at the edge of the lake.  We wondered at first if it was nesting there, but it didn't stay in one place for long, and flew off shortly after I took this shot.
