Evening by the lake

This is Lake Ainsworth, a km or so north of Lennox village. It is freshwater, even though only 100 metres from the ocean. The trees are paperbarks, Melaleuca quinquinervia. This is the same species that has becomes a serious weed in the Florida Everglades. The water level in the lake is high right now, due to heavy rain over the last few weeks. On a warm autumn evening like today, the lake and its surrounds are very popular with locals.
