Billy's Blue Balloon

Billy had a blue balloon
to play with. Now he's stopped.
It's not because he's bored with it,
it's not because it's popped.
The reason Billy's game is spoiled
and Billy's started squealing:
he rubbed his blue balloon and now
it's sticking to the ceiling.

This is little Miss B's balloon stuck to the ceiling, after Granny had given it a good rub to build up static electricity. Her mummy had just been reading this poem from my little book (which she loves - definitely a fan of poetry!), so we decided to give it a try. At which point LMB discovered why Billy was squealing - and it had to be retrieved pretty quickly. Later, though, she brought a pink balloon to me and said, "Ceiling!" so clearly she wasn't too traumatised. So that was her English and Science lesson for today (!) Well, it is Silly Saturday!

My Extra shows Little Miss B enjoying another poem in the book. I like the way both she and her mum are pointing at the mouse in the illustration (which the little one later kissed!)
