Cowslips (wildflowerweek21_02)

The meadow at Compton Verney is just getting going with these cowslips staking their claim to be first out of the traps.  With their tall stalks they quickly get themselves above the level of the grass and out into the sunshine and where the pollinating insects can see them.

In the extra, one of the plants in the section next to the house.  This area is left to grow with a series of paths mown through so visitors can wander among whatever comes up as the season progresses.

There was just enough breeze to make it difficult to get a sharp shot without the iso turned up.  I did try with a macro lens but none of those were particularly appealing, so I have gone for these more general shots. Bluebells are appearing toward the lake so they might well be next week's effort for Wildflower week.

We spent the afternoon sat out in a friend's garden planning a couple of motorhome trips.  Very strange to think how long it is since we did anything like that.
