Upper Hallidayhill

This is all that remains of Upper Hallidayhill Farm, up in the hills between Dunscore and Auldgirth. It must have been a thriving concern once, but no-one lives there now and there are few traces of past habitation, save the rusted old iron range at one end of the farmhouse.

Joanna and I explored the remains on our walk today. We climbed the hill above the farm (Beacon Hill) and sat for ages, drinking tea, admiring the 360 degree view and watching snow showers come and go all around us.

We spent so long up there that D had already made the tea by the time I reached home :-)
