Big Red

The Holland Harbor Light is known to Michiganders as Big Red. It's located in Ottawa County, Michigan at the entrance of a channel connecting Lake Michigan with Lake Macatawa. The channel gives access to the city of Holland, Michigan.

After ten years and daily exposure to the reflective light of the lake, it was becoming know as Big Pink. But this year, a community fundraiser raised enough cash for two coats of fresh red paint and a polyurethane finish. There is still work to be done when it warms up a little this spring.
