Grand River

Extra frosty in the Large view.

The Grand River runs one mile from our home. My wife and I take our dog, Gibb for early morning walks in a nature preserve that runs alongside its banks. Twice we have seen American Bald Eagles gliding overhead.

For fishermen, winter is steelhead season. The flow of the Grand River creates a natural attraction for salmon, it's scent offering the pull necessary to guide the fish back to their birthplace to create new life of their own. As the salmon slowly come and go, so do the steelhead and brown trout.

I don't care about fishing, but the river and it's banks are beautiful and different to look at in changing light and seasons.
