Icing sugar snow

Having woken up early after not much sleep I decided to get up and get out before the local pathways became busy.  A very light dusting of snow here overnight - just what I call icing sugar snow, although it was obvious from cars passing through the village that there had been a lot more snow elsewhere.   Not too cold as I climbed the hill from the village deciding to walk around the top of the estate. Took the first pathway though the gateway, and part way up met Corinthian doing her morning walk on the way to pick up the papers.  Quick chat and then I went up past Lady Blantyre’s and  had a chat with a dog walker about the lovely light at that time of day.  The heather on the moorland was covered with snow and the the mossy walls had a topping too (extras). Out onto Altar Lane and the view over nearby moorland was bright and snowy - main image.  Back around the top of the golf course, then down to Ivy Kitchen as they opened in time for me to get a warming coffee.  A circuit around the pond, and then a quick stop in the bird hide - lots of squirrels - some looked like youngsters. Took the path down to Cuckoo Nest to get home.  Cars everywhere as junior teams were playing football. By the time I reached home the snow on the hills in the next village had almost disappeared.  Visit to the garden centre later in the day, and a couple of flurries but nothing settled.  Snowing lightly again tonight though.
