Austin City Blues

This iris variety is in full crazy bloom right now, and I noticed that this particular stem has flowers with four falls instead of the usual three. I've never seen such a thing; it turns out to be an aberration caused by climate stress, or dramatic changes in springtime temperature like we've been having. This phenomenon is called a chimera. While not exactly common, it has been noted on various iris sites.  So I guess I won't get famous for discovering this in my garden, but it's pretty cool to see.
