Striking a Pose

Dear Diary,

This Hairy Woodpecker was striking a pose on Auntie's Tree, probably deciding which trunk might hide some bugs.  I have Downey Woodpeckers too but they are smaller and with shorter beaks.  Otherwise, they look pretty much the same.  A dull start to the day but not too chilly this morning.  Blipfoto says today's post is a "milestone".  For me, the really milestone is the 15th when I start year 8 of this photographic adventure.  The fun continues...
