Mish-mash architecture

Because of the  ghost sign picture, I have found myself reading up about Bridge Street, Inverness. Most of this street was demolished on the late sixties to make way for the buildings you see today. The three concrete boxes to the right are widely reviled. The one to the left looks better since it has been converted into restaurants and flats. The building which was demolished to make way for it, had a history going back to Mary, Queen of Scots, and looked like this: https://www.ambaile.org.uk/asset/11381/ Only the vaults from its basement remains.
