Bluebell Bombus

The morning was bright and lovely, and after yesterday's fun a gentle stroll seemed appropriate. Not that we are at all tired or beyond the energy of a thirty month old, but we did sleep well...

We walked to the bluebell woods, but in truth they're a week off peak at the one wood, and the other hasn't set flowers at all yet. Nonetheless, this fellow was out and about, and though I only had the walkabout lens on it was an ok shot. She's a Bombus Lapidarius, a red bottomed worker bee. Go Large. :-)

I've put an extra as a taster of what's to come in the bluebell woods. But let's not rush through spring eh, it is the most delightful season.
