Waverley Station in the rain

I travelled through to Edinburgh today and took this shot from the station lift to Princes Street. It is a very modern glass-fronted lift and emerges into the daylight to provide a panoramic view of the station's immense glass roof. Beyond the roof are the old tenements close to the Royal Mile. The station is vast and covers over 25 acres , and is the second-largest mainline railway station in the UK, only beaten by London Waterloo.

As it was a very wet day, the glass in the lift was heavily spotted with raindrops, and needless to say, the whole scene was virtually shades of grey. That wouldn't do! So I got to work with various filters and treatments in the Revel App on the train home, and had some fun with different photos. I'll be back in Edinburgh on Monday and find our capital city a goldmine for pictures whatever the weather!
