Jay

I think a pair of Jays is nesting in this tree in front of our house.  This one was enjoying the warm sunshine and another was perched nearby having a preening session.

There was a bat flying about in broad daylight this afternoon.  I am guessing it was a pipistrelle as it appeared to be very small.  I failed to get a picture of it as its flight was very fast and very erratic but I shall try again another day if it makes another daylight appearance.
