Early Morning Visitor

I'm going to skip over today.

But I'm going to return to the theme "The Lost Art Of Paying Attention".

I got on a bus.  

There has been a building site that closed a road that the bus usually uses.  But of course, ESWE has trained their drivers to ignore stuff like that.  You have to drive past the sign that says "If you want to get to Schierstein, you have to follow the diversion".  Also the one that says "This is a no through road".  And also the one that says "No place to turn around here (especially if you are in a double length bendy bus)"

I was sitting at the front of the bus and I very politely said "Diese Straße ist gesperrt, Sie können hier nicht durchfahren" ("this street is blocked, you can't drive through").  

The driver ignored me.

10 seconds later and we're looking at the blocked off street.  

In a double length bendy bus on a standard street with one lane. 

And of course, it had nothing to do with the driver - it was his colleague who was to blame.

Despite this building site having been there for months and all those signs saying "Don't be an effing Idiot".

So cue something that was a lot like this.

Only MUCH longer.

I can't blame the driver, it must have been something really interesting to read in WhatsApp that caused him to miss all of that.

Don't get me wrong, there are people who can drive properly and pay attention to what is happening, unfortunately it's the other 99% of drivers who spoil it for everyone.
