Life in Sunny Dubai

RAK

Today is my sister, SweetArt's birthday! And an extra special day for her as she and her family complete their quarantine period in Adelaide, so they will experience fresh air for the first time since 1st April!

Over here, we had our usual service at 11, then lunch and then a special Zoom meeting with the ladies of the church to find out what their talents are that they can offer to ladies' ministries. It is only the second time that I've experienced Zoom rooms.

That over, G & I got into the car and headed North to Ras Al Khaimah to the wine shop. A good three-hour round trip this time, we finished with a quick walk near the palace area. Shawarmas for dinner as we watched the chess movie "Searching for Bobby Fischer," which is based on the life of Josh Waitzkin. There is a tournament taking place in town and one of our little AWANA kids (Alexander) is participating. He was there last night from 9 pm to 12 am! Poor kid. His mum said he played nine games in all - winning four and losing five. She reckons it's good experience for him.

My blip is of the red dunes of Ras Al Khaimah, taken when we stopped for a snack. It was just before Iftar - eating and drinking out in public during Ramadan! I hope the whole of the country has adopted the relaxation of the law. :)
