Man vv machine

Mid evening yesterday we discovered we had no water. After a check that it wasn't the supply itself that was the problem we basically went to the first thought we had, which was that yesterday's ploughing might be part of the equation. Which it was.

So here's the farmer plus friend plus LH digging to find the pipe and then calling in the bigger guns later. Interestingly, the pipe must have been laid when there were more, smaller fields (apparently six rather than two) and eventually they found it took an unexpected 90° turn in the middle of the field, probably at the site of an original old boundary. No wonder they couldn't initially find it.

Always useful to find these things out. I am now going for a long bath; a day without water on tap has given me a much greater appreciation of a service we take so much for granted.
