Going home

After a final tidy up, we set off for Cumbria. We both think we will be back, otherwise I am pretty sure there would have been tears!
The trip home was fairly uneventful. Brother J had made sandwiches so we stopped in a service station for lunch etc. We had had several other breaks on the way up. I can’t help with the driving any more so we stopped every couple of hours for a break. My blip is our last stop. This is at Lancaster Services. The building that looks like an air traffic control tower, but was originally a restaurant. It is called the Pennine Tower. Apparently it failed to meet later safety standards due to only having one exit so had to shut. The whole service station looks very dilapidated. My extra is a selfie taken in the car park in the sunshine. Got to Sedbergh at around 5pm. Mr D got fish and chips, yum. It’s good to be home. Then just as I was going to bed we had more drama. Katy had caught a bird, and was chasing it around the kitchen! Poor thing was terrified, but seemed undamaged. We put it somewhere safe for the night and hope it survives.
