17th April

Today will be remembered as the date for Prince Philip's funeral but it's also our wedding anniversary!  22 years today and I really don't know where the time has gone.

I thought the funeral was just as he would have wanted it, with as little fuss as possible despite the wonderful pomp and circumstance one would expect for a royal funeral.  The Queen looked so little, sitting all alone.  It's so hard for any family to say goodbye to loved ones in these hard times.

It's been a beautiful day, sunshine and blue, blue skies.  This morning we went to a members only event at Prescott Hill Climb and Mr Sk drove us up the hill a couple of times in the Triumph Stag.  Then we had a coffee and bacon bap in the sunshine before heading home to watch Prince Philip's funeral.  The extra shows us waiting to get to the start line.

My main blip shows my Silver and Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award badges which I got at school.  Sadly I never went in for the Gold Award after leaving school and therefore never met the Duke himself but it was a great thing to take part in.  We were given our Silver Awards at Goodwood House by the Duke of Richmond who was the current Duke's grandfather!
