Ill Bell & Frostwick with Windermere Behind

Matt & I totally revelled in the Kentmere Horseshoe on a wonderfully sunny and surprisingly warm day. The views were misty, but oh so much enjoyed and for much of the day I was in short sleeves, even on the tops.

I was happy with my fitness too: we set off early and walked 19.5km with 1150m ascent, without any trouble. Except for the blisters that is. My heels have clearly softened.I do wear my boots at home for local walks but there are no real hills to speak of and I guess my feet don’t get the same sort of pressure on them. Whatever, it was still an absolutely fantastic day.

Extra is a Red Admiral spotted on Kentmere Pike.
