Another Exquisite Day

It was about 85F/30C today - you'd think it would be too warm, but it really was spectacular. There wasn't a cloud in the sky. We finally had the irrigation system turned on yesterday and gave the gardens a good, long soak this am. The grandchildren came over for the afternoon - we had a picnic outside for lunch and got the little kid's pool cleaned out and they played around in a couple of inches of very cold water...but it was refreshing. All told a lovely day.

I was surprised to find this little dwarf cherry 'Romeo' in full bloom in the garden this morning...the warmth brought out the blossoms. It's really lovely this year. The cherries are theoretically sweet for a sour cherry - we'll see this fall. It's a fairly new addition and it hasn't borne fruit yet.

Hope you've had a lovely Saturday!
