Day 391 Enjoying the sunshine

Today the sun shone and the sky was clear blue.  Unfortunately the temperature remains unseasonably cold and it only feels warm when the sun is shining directly on you.  There were several types of be venturing out into the garden but none of them seemed to find any of the flowers satisfactory.  In fact this was the only one that stayed still long enough to get a shot.  I'm sure he/she was appreciating the sun on its back though.
In other news: today was the funeral of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.  He had planned the event himself right down to designing the modified Landrover Defender that carried his coffin.  Already intended to be a simple occasion (with strictly no sermon!)it was pared down even further by the Royal family's strict adherence to current Covid restrictions.  Two images especially stand out for us : the retreating figure of the lone piper playing Flowers of the Forest and that of the Queen seated alone and looking small and frail.  She was representative today of   the plight of so many over the past year and I feel so sad for them all.
