At Last . . .

And ‘at last’!

Not only has a mini digger appeared on site today along with the bricks and (wrong) sand last week, perhaps they will at last re-start work on the boundary wall; AND I have, at last, got around to fitting the Pressure Reducing Valve to the cold water supply to the downstairs bath so that the shower can be used safely/easily.

The PRV was on the water inlet to the house when the incoming pressure was about 7.5 bar and causing all sorts of problems with dishwashers and the like.  The water board fitted a PRV to the incoming water main to our side of the village (fed from Folkingham) after they opened up the connecting valve between east and west Rippingale one day many years ago and burst umpteen mains pipes in the east of the village which is normally fed from a lower pressure supply (Bourne).

After that I tidied up our mains inlet and our PRV sat in the shed for years.  I then realised that the cold water pipe to the bath was easily accessible in the back porch.  It can’t have taken me more than a couple of years to get round to fitting the valve.
