Trick of the light

Through the cunning engine of evolution the speckled wood butterfly  is perfectly matched to its habitat of dappled sunlight, with its pattern of bright dots that trick the eye as it flickers along the hedgerows from one sunspot to another patch of light among the shade.

Much like the okapi's unique camouflage that hides the animal in plain sight  in the shadowy forests of Central Africa.
