Afternoon at the beach

Peak spring. Celandines, violets, primroses, stitchwort, cuckoo pint, golden saxifrage, wood sorrel, bluebells and acres of wild garlic  in bloom as we walked down through the valley to the waterfall and followed the river out to the beach. The breeze was fresh, the water was cold and air was clear.

We had a picnic lunch, waded, pottered, examined limpet trails and piled stones. No one else was there. Perfect.
