Florida shells

Tuesday
The weather is not being too kind to us so far this week - we arose to heavy grey skies again, and after breakfast we could hear and see another storm approaching from the Gulf. However, the temperatures are still warm, while back home in Ohio, they are having three freezing nights, and a high tomorrow of only 47F, so I think we’re still in the right place! As we were sitting on our screened in balcony, watching the storm approach, it was interesting watching the differing reactions of people walking on the beach. One lady, when she heard the first clap of thunder, broke into a bit of a jog, and some others quickened their pace, while others carried on regardless. The numbers gradually dwindled, but one young couple got caught in the rain, but by the time we saw them, they were obviously already soaked, so there was no point in running! Once the storm had passed and it had stopped raining, we went for a walk along the beach ourselves. We felt a few spots of rain, but nothing significant. We spent a few minutes watching some surfers a bit further along the beach, but the waves weren’t very good for them. By then, the sun was trying to break through, so we went back and changed into our swimsuits, and took our chairs out on to the beach. The sun came and went, but there was more cloud than sun. Later in the afternoon, we treated ourselves to another ice cream, and had a quick trip to the supermarket. Some of the roads had huge puddles almost all the way across the road. There was a bit of clearing as sunset approached, and I hoped we might get a decent sunset, but in the end it fizzled out. I didn’t get any good photos during the day, so before I fixed dinner, I took a picture of some of the shells I have collected so far, some here, and a few from Canaveral Seashore.
