New Old Bench

After finishing my latest project in time, I finally found time for some outdoor jobs.
So I weeded a neglected part of the front garden, scrubbed the steps in front of the house, and then oiled the old wooden bench from my mother's garden that I had cleaned a week ago and left to dry. 

That took longer than expected, because the old wood soaked up a lot of oil, and the finish doesn't look as even as I had hoped.

Nevertheless I'm quite pleased with the result. The bench now sits in the far corner of our garden, which is sunny in the mornings, and shaded when the terrace gets uncomfortably hot on summer afternoons. 

I am hoping to enjoy many delicious mugs of coffee on the new old bench in the coming months.
