Phantom fennel

Another sunny day with little achieved. The garden is busy with bees and buds are growing fast. Some plants look the worse for the recent frosts: the leopard's bane all look quite shaggy and unkempt, and the shoots on the bleeding heart are flopping down limply. But the fennel is shooting up and throwing fine shadows on the stone alongside it.
