Who'd have thought it?
When I discovered that the seat post in my bike had seized solid and I couldn't budge it I looked on line and found John (aka The Seatpost Man)
As it happened, we were passing near him on our way up to Keswick so I arranged to drop the frame off on the way past last week. The job turned out to be little more involved than anticipated as a metal shim also needed to be custom made and installed
Luckily it was ready today so we picked it up again on the way back. He has done a lovely job on it.
It amazed me that there was a living to be made from such a specialist skill. He gets bikes sent to him from all over the world and also from bike shops who are unable to do the job.
