the hand that feeds

This morning the robins fledged, not sure how many there are but the robin seems to be feeding in 3 different places, so lets assume 3 for the moment. I saw one fledgling briefly looking cute with little tufts on his head but they are each hiding in various hedges in the garden, 1 in the front and 2 at the back. If previous years are anything to go by it will be another week before we start to see them and they will hopefully stay around for about 3 weeks.
All the feeding is now being done by the male, he's very busy!  Meanwhile the female yesterday stopped feeding and started building another nest on the opposite side of the garden so we were expecting the fledging today.
Both birds come to the hand for food and are very persuasive even if they see you in the house through the window. The female has always been more cautious but the male continuously flies around you when you go out and will sit on you knee if you sit down. He's a pest at times but it is wonderful to have him as a garden buddy.
