Wouldn't it be nice if most homes showed this amount of character? I know nothing about the history of this particular property (on the border between Hale and Bowdon in Trafford, Greater Manchester), but looking around the area it seems to me to be utterly unique. I'm not saying it's my favourite in terms of architecture, etc., but is a hugely refreshing change from the bland uniformity, or at best pseudo-uniqueness, of most modern developments that try to pretend to offer "characterful homes for discerning families" (bleuurgh!).
There, rant over :-)
