Ray Troll at the Burke

Altho it’s out of my stay at home comfort zone, we thot we’d make a short run to the very empty Burke Museum of Natural History today to see the Ray Troll Exhibit before it closes…    He is an artist from Alaska who teamed up with a paleontologist (director of the Smithsonisn Museum of National History) at the Burke and they logged over 10,000 miles together mapping out the fossils on the west coast and producing a charmingly artistic but deeply scientific and scholarly book, Cruising the Fossil Coastline   The Exhibit has his drawings, sculptures, videos and real fossils, rocks AND Ray Troll himself was there today!!  (Maybe because there is a big auction tomorrow…)  He was drawing names out of a bag for who knows what.  His mask is on the floor ..he exclaimed he’s fully vaccinated and proceeded to mask back up immediately.    We enjoyed our hour OUT!

Some of the artwork in extras…including this Alaska Dinosaur from a different angle, and a model of a "desmos"
