Heavy but productive

A really heavy day. Removed the remaining bamboo from our boundary and the neighbour’s garden. It’s been there 15 years before we bought the house and gas slowly spread. It was a hard job and needed specialist spades and strength. Only one bit left which is well into our grades (raised bed) and j think after a blitz of trunk killer it will be easy to remove in a few months time. I feel like I could set a company up in bamboo removal! Nasty stuff- don’t do it!!!

On the plus side I bought some clothes. Had a nice meal in the garden. Planted all my sweet peas out and my first ever dahlia (after rehydrating for an hour). Had some banter with my brother and sorted through some seeds to plant tomorrow. On the minus side I think I may have killed my only 2 butternut squash seedlings and my only black tomato seedlings :-(

My neighbour kindly gave MrH and I a bottle of wine which I refused but it then got a bit awkward so I accepted it. Fingers crossed the bamboo never comes back.
