The Woodland Garden (Friday 23rd April 2021)

Photographing the tulips in the Woodland Garden has become a minor obsession this month, as can be seen from the month's Flickr album. For BikerBear's Flower Friday I have slightly abstracted two macro shots of the flowers in front yard tubs and added an impressionistic view of another.
Work in next door's garden lasted until after 1800hr by which time most of the groundwork and new fencing was completed, seen here from the study window.

Lozarhythm Of The Day:
Bobbie Gentry - The Windows Of The World (recorded 1969, Capitol Studios, Nashville TN)
I picked up a 3CD of Burt Bacharach compositions for 34p in a Calne charity shop on this day. Among the contents was this Bacharach-David composition which seems as if it ought to be the theme for a film, but isn't. Originally recorded by Dionne Warwick in 1967 it has since been recorded by everyone from Isaac Hayes to Chrissie Hynde with the Pretenders.
I had never heard this beautiful version by Bobbie Gentry before and it turns out that although recorded in 1969 it was shelved for some unimagineable reason and not released until 2007.
