Green-winged Orchid

Far too windy for butterflies today so I went to look for Green-winged orchids instead. I found about forty in half an hour but most were very short, probably affected by the bone dry conditions and the recent frosts. There were a dozen or so fully developed ones like this. This orchid gets its name from the green veins in the hood formed by the sepals.
