Day Today

All in All It's Just A....

Another pic on the wall

I'm hoping that the Pink Floyd reference/pun counter-acts the mediocrity of this photograph...

Prints - This is what photography is all about, isn't it. Digital is great because it makes things cheaper to learn (in that a mistake costs 'nothing') but the temptation to keep things digital is too great. The fact that a picture can be sent around the world in an instant is incredible, but something physical to hold, share and get framed is so much nicer than looking at a photo on a laptop or an iPad.

Seeing all these pictures up on Eve's wall reminds me what the point of photography is. Looking back through holiday photos, as a kid, it was always the excitement of seeing them versus the restraint of following my parents' words: "Don't get finger prints all over the pictures!" There's pictures of everyone from everywhere, on her wall. It's nice.

I just put in a second lot of photographs to be printed, today. I'm looking forward to getting them back.

Today was an incredibly lazy day: recovering from last night's (inevitable) PhotoSoc(ial) hangover, breakfast, bit more project work and a couple of films watched. It was topped off with a spectacular meal in a tiny French restaurant in Leamington; Eleven. Tipped as a 'hidden gem of Leam' by online reviews, I can confirm that it really does deserve its reputation. Eve's scallops were really fresh and excellently cooked (after 7 years working in a fish restaurant it's painful to see scallops ruined by overcooking) and my steak was stupidly tender. A little expensive for student pockets, but well worth it. Highly recommended.

TLDR: Hungover; project work; getting prints is the business; 'Eleven' is a fantastic restaurant.

Peace

This photo is balls. It won't mean a lot to anyone else, the DOF is too shallow and it isn't wide-angle enough but it means a lot to me and as I'm selfish, that's all that matters.
