Joyful

A quieter day, thankfully, with time for a morning walk along the River Nene, which was reverberating with bird song, the loudest of which was that of a Cett's warbler, closely followed by this Wren.

In the afternoon Pete and I went next door for afternoon tea in the garden. Her daughter and grandson were staying for the weekend, to relieve the pressure of caring for her husband who has Alzheimer's and we had an extraordinarily jolly time, though I had to leave for a short while for a routine mammogram (luckily we live very close to the hospital and I was back in about twenty minutes!)

Afternoon tea merged into wine with cheese and biscuits, and we finally left about seven, ready for a meal of Lamb Kleftiko cooked by Alex. A good day!
