Heron rookery at Long Branch Farm

After yesterday’s rain, today was sunny, though a little on the cool side, and very windy. Late morning we went hiking at Long Branch Farm and trails, largely to go and see the heron rookery and see if the chicks were hatching yet, and as you can see from my blip, at least one of the nests had chicks - three as far as I could make out. There was only one car in the car park when we arrived, so the trails were quiet. I took a lot of photographs - besides the herons, there were plenty of wild flowers and a couple of deer who seemed unusually undisturbed by our presence.
