Sprites of Spring

This afternoon I went to Ellesmere to join with the Fizzgigs arts group to play music in their band.  In the Cremorne Gardens next to the Mere was Sprites of Spring, a fairyland installation with a 12" high Goddess of Spring, Primavera.  All made by the members and was really spectacular.

The installation was opened and prizes presented for the children's "Name the sprite" competition.  We then played music for a couple of hours while people stopped to look at the display.  It's the first time that I've performed since the pandemic started.

It was lovely to see the group again and also lots of other people that we know.  The Sprites will be there tomorrow afternoon so we'll be playing again.  It was pretty cold but I was wearing lots of layers so was fine.

The blip is of some of the sprites and the extra is of the whole installation including the goddess.  What a lovely event for the first of May!
