Tiptoe through the tulips

This afternoon we went to Morton Hall in Worcestershire for day 1 of their tulip festival.  There are still lots to come out but it was a real treat for the senses with hundreds of tulips, some on display by a bulb grower for us to buy if we wanted to and lots of other beautiful plants, not least the blossom.  If the day had been a little clearer we would also have had a splendid view across Worcestershire to the Malvern Hills.  You might just be able to make out the hills in the distance on the landscape shots in extras.  It really was a delightful place and to top it all they were serving good tea and coffee and home made cakes.  The charity they are supporting this weekend was the Royal Shakespeare Company with a particular link to the costume making department so there were some costumes on display too.  You can see lots of different aspects of the gardens in extras but this little girl was so obviously enjoying herself that she has to have pride of place for my blip.  Her brother was equally enthralled by the flowers.

It was a little chilly but at least the rain help off.  We think we might go for a guided tour of the gardens a little later in the year.
